Miami, FL – January 22, 2025 – Today, Univision announced the list of artists nominated for the 37th edition of Premio Lo Nuestro. The talented Mexican American singer Becky G and Mexican music star Carín León top the list with 10 nominations each, followed by international superstar Shakira and Puerto Rican artist Myke Towers, with 9 nominations. They are joined by Emilia, Ángela Aguilar, Grupo Frontera, and Leonardo Aguilar, who stand out with 8 nods each. The prestigious event, which will be hosted by world-class figures Laura Pausini, Thalía, and Alejandra Espinoza, will be broadcast live on Thursday, February 20 from Kaseya Center in Miami. The broadcast will begin at 7p/6c with a star-studded pre-show full of surprises, followed by the main event at 8p/7c, on Univision, UNIMÁS, and ViX.
Under the theme "Uniendo Generaciones" (Uniting Generations), this year's gala will pay tribute to songs that connect the past, present, and future of Latin music and will feature 44 categories reflecting the diversity of musical genres, from urban and pop to tropical and Mexican music. Among the new additions, the awards show incorporates six new categories: Best Dembow Song, Best Pop Latin Fusion Song, Christian Music – Song Of The Year, Pop-Urban Best "EuroSong", Mexican Music – Fusion of the Year, and Mexican Music – Best Electro Corrido, thus reaffirming its commitment to trends and the evolution of the music industry.
Nominations for Premio Lo Nuestro 2025 are based on airplay on Uforia stations and take into account airtime on Univision Radio, streaming data, and evaluation by a Television Committee composed of music and entertainment industry experts. Fans can vote for their winners from January 22 to February 4 on PremioLoNuestro.com.
For the first time in its history, the event will include an uninterrupted livestream on YouTube with exclusive interviews and highlights. Additionally, winners of various categories will be announced on social media throughout the day of the event, ensuring a dynamic and exciting experience for fans.
