According to Thalía, this project was carried out from the heart of a fan with the purpose of thanking the exponents of rock in Spanish who marked her adolescence and who helped her define her musical style.

Prior to the launch, the Mexican singer spoke with Prensa Libre and gave details of the mixtape and the docuseries that she will launch in the coming days.

"I want to share that this Mixtape is dedicated to the fans of that era of rock in Spanish, of these great idols of so many generations because it is made not by Thalía the artist but by the teenager who looks for their idols and thanks them face to face, everything what they have meant to me," said Thalía.

In the Mixtape, the Mexican singer included new versions of songs such as Devuélveme a Mi Chica by Hombres G, Pachuco by La Maldita Vecindad, Florecita Rockera by Aterciopelados, Persiana Americana by Soda Stereo and La Muralla Verde by Los Enanitos Verdes, among others.

In some of the songs, Thalía had the support of members of the original groups and in others, the artist invited new musical figures.

"In some songs, the musicians of the bands that have been my idols participate. However, when I started the project, I invited other characters according to the ideas that occurred to me for the series that illustrates this movement", added the artist.

Thalía affirmed that this project is a tribute to musical luminaries, but also an exhibition for new talents. "I imagined that it would be a bridge to connect the great generation of rock royalty in Spanish with the new emerging generation of TikTok and YouTube," said the Mexican artist, who invited the Guatemalan Ben Carrillo for her Mixtape.

"I really liked Ben's voice, when I heard him I said: I have to do something with him and in the chorus of the song he participates in it, he says 'Estoy parado sobre la muralla que divide...
Todo lo que fue de lo que será... (I'm standing over the wall that divides. All that was of what will be)' and so much Ben Carillo as Bruses represent that, they are standing in everything that will be, what comes with their music, the diffusion in networks and the web, that is why they participate in the song of Los Enanitos Verdes," said Thalía.

Nostalgia and musical evolution
According to Thalía, this project, in addition to paying tribute to her musical idols, includes a dose of memories for musical evolution and the devices on which the songs have been heard.

"In past decades there was a lot of sense of belonging. In our era there were many tangible things, and we made efforts to obtain a song. It was literally hours in front of the recorder to wait for the song and record it. Currently there are applications and it is very easy to make a playlist. Before it was to go, buy your cassette and record the songs. Our time was one of belonging and what I promote with this Mixtape is a fan work for fans, with which I give thanks to these heroes of music, for these songs, for what they did, to give us the strength to be authentic and to find our voice," Thalía said.

The docuseries
Thalía's Mixtape that was released this Friday, April 28, is part of a project that will feature the docuseries Thalía's Mixtape: El Soundtrack de Mi Vida, in which, through three chapters, the artist will show that evolution of rock.

The docuseries will premiere on May 2 in the US and Canada, while in Latin America and Europe it will premiere on May 3 on Paramount Plus.

"I decided that it would be a musical and family docuseries, that my son, my daughter, friends could sit down, so that the evolution of music from vinyl to the digital age could be understood," said Thalía.

"I hope you enjoy this project that was made with love from a fan for fans and that you enjoy these new versions of the rock hits in Spanish," she concluded.
