The singer, who premieres a single, explains that in each work she overcomes her fears and pushes her limits to connect with new audiences.
"¿Me oyen, me escuchan?" (Do you hear me, do you hear me), Thalía asked in a video on social networks in 2018, thus creating the #ThalíaChallenge, a dance challenge that went viral in people of different ages.
The 51-year-old singer is a benchmark: she has more than 11.6 million followers on TikTok, 20.1 million on Instagram and 4.3 million on Spotify, where she is the most followed Mexican artist. For her, the digital world is already inherent in her personality, as she is known for always reinventing herself.
"I like to push my limits and fears and dare to do things with which I sometimes say: 'this is something that totally takes me out of my comfort zone,' but because I feel uncomfortable, I have to learn it," she says El Universal.
To do so, she is surrounded by young people, whom she includes in her work team, but those who bring her closer to the new generations are her children: Sabrina, 15, and Matthew, 11.
"The gamer is my son and he teaches me a lot. Suddenly there are things that I do and they say: 'Ma, no! Don't do that, he's too boomer!'", says the singer between laughs.
From those learning a new stage has begun with her music, mixing electronic rhythms with the pop that characterizes her. Psycho Bitch, her new single, is an example of this modernity. The theme talks about a woman who is not willing to change her personality and who enjoys dancing.
In the video clip, which premieres today (November 4, 2022 12 AM EST), Thalía is seen dancing on a disco ball in a classic velvet suit.
"I was always a fan of Donna Summer and I wanted to stand on a gigantic ball, I never imagined that my velvet wardrobe with the glass of the mirror would be of maximum danger, I would slip."
Last year, the businesswoman was also on the list of the most viewed music videos on YouTube with No Me Acuerdo, in which she collaborated with reggaetonera Natti Natasha four years ago and which today has more than 1.3 billion views.
"There is room for everyone. The connectivity that social networks offer today is something spectacular because you are in your little niche giving your message and suddenly you form a huge platform."
Although an important part of her career was forged after having acted in soap operas in the 90s, such as María la del barrio and María Mercedes, for now the actress does not plan to return to the screen, although she shares that she still enjoys the roles she played with her family.
"I have a collection that my fans have given me of different figures of the Marías, my children grab them and tell me: 'let's see, why does this one have a little hat with little spikes?' I explain the story to them and it is an incredible experience."
Although the diva is a member of a dynasty of actresses, including Laura Zapata, Ernestina and Camila Sodi, she would not like to tell her life either.
"There are many offers since the bioseries started, but I don't know if I would dare; there are things that are very mine, private," she emphasizes.
