Social platforms are windows for women to get inspired, connect and open up dialogue on relevant issues. For this reason, Meta is announcing their support for the #CambiandoElJuego (Changing The Game) campaign, a series of videos that highlight the stories and voices of renowned women journalists, activists, athletes, actresses and singers from Latin America.
They are public figures who have had to "change the game" because of the inequality they face in their professional and personal lives. They decided to join forces to inspire others to continue driving change through a series of videos addressing racial, gender, and pay inequality, inclusion of the LGBTQIA+ community, and ending bullying.
Fairness is important every day. Across all sectors and industries, women still experience the effects of inequality, from gender discrimination and harassment, to pay disparity and LGBTQIA+ inclusion that profoundly affect creativity and innovation. According to a recent Study of Diversity and Inclusion of Offerwise, 46% of prejudice against women was motivated by their gender.
In five videos to be released between April and July, women from different backgrounds will tell their stories and share experiences about how they are "changing the game" in their environments. Sports journalist Adriana Monsave will be the host. The first video will be released on April 12 and will address gender equality, with the participation of Lenia Ruvalcaba, Paralympic judo medalist, social entrepreneur, activist and content creator Jessica Fernández García, and actresses Natasha Dupeyron and Ana Valeria Becerril.
The second video will focus on ways to stop bullying and will feature another group of Mexican women: fitness content creator Ceci Aguilera, creator and anti-fatphobia activist La Fatshionista Priscila Arias, singer and actress Thalía and the artist Morganna Love.
In the following months, Adriana will also speak with female public figures such as the creators Adriana Meaury and Ophelia Pastrana, the singers Sofía Reyes, Danna Paola, Lila Downs and Goyo, the actresses Michelle Rodríguez, Adriana Fonseca, Maya Zapata and Ana Martín and the football player Janelly Farias.
Throughout history, women have been the main force for transformation on issues of gender equity, breaking down prejudices and making their way within their industries. Despite this progress, there is still a long way to go to achieve a truly equitable and diverse society in all areas.
To amplify the message, each video will feature a challenge, in which all women will be invited to create their own content, tell their stories and raise their voices to continue changing the rules of the game.
Watch all the episodes on the Meta for Business website and the social networks of each of the participants. Let's change the game together!
